The visit also gave us the opportunity to cram in a bunch of touristy things, namely to take a cruise on the Ohio River and drop in on the fabled Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, aka "the most exciting two minutes in sports." Especially notable (for me, at least) was the 45 minutes or so I spent at the Guitar Emporium on Bardstown Road, one of the coolest guitar shops I've ever seen. It was a great trip for all of us.
