After the performance, we inched our way down A1A toward Cocoa Beach for a little oceanfront lunching and frolicking. I say inched because apparently it's spring break for lots of college kids, and the traffic was a nightmare. So was the beach. Bodies everywhere, some of them easy to look at, some not so much. The scene wasn't quite as horrific as depicted in the picture above, which I found with a Google image search, but it wasn't far off.
Of course we managed to have a great time, dining on the deck at Coconuts on the Beach (the jerk mahi sandwich and sweet potato fries were awesome) and playing in the sand and surf with the kids. It was sunny and warm, welcome relief from the extended winter we've suffered here in Central Florida (suffered is relative, I realize).
We don't hit the beach enough, if you ask me. But it's nice living close enough to make it happen, all in the span of a few hours, if we choose.
