at Universal's Islands of Adventure
That's right, we opted for crowds and commotion rather than peace and quiet. But who's kidding who? There is no rest with little kids. They're wound up and ready to go, all the time, especially on weekends.
So off we went. And we did have tons of fun. After dropping fast and furious on the Jurassic Park River Adventure flume ride, my 4-year-old daughter belted out, "Mama mia!" Not sure where that came from. Equally amusing was my son's not-so-veiled criticism of the carousel at Seuss Landing: "That was dumb," he informed us as he stepped off the attraction.
Our kids are surely spoiled living in Orlando, with such easy access to the world's greatest theme parks. I'm thinking we'll stay close to home tomorrow, just hang out and enjoy each other's company. Yeah, right. Better start planning our next big outing right now. The kids are already looking fidgety.
