GUITAR DAD

My plan for attracting feathered friends to my backyard with a nifty bird feeder has been thwarted by the local squirrels, whose pesky behavior has my blood boiling. Notice that the feeder is empty now, all of its contents devoured by these vile varmints. Anybody have a pellet gun I can borrow?

They really are pests when it comes to birdfeeders. I remember one year my dad greased the pole our feeder was on - it made for hours of entertainment for us kids as we watched the squirrels slide down the pole. Anyway, since yours is a hanging feeder, here are some solutions: http://icwdm.org/Prevention/birdfeeders1.asp

(In my best Homer Simpson impersonation) – Mmmmmm…squirrels.

And by the way: greetings from a fellow guitar/drums/keyboard dad! Great looking site, great sounding music (well played and VERY well recorded…nice job!), excellent bits o’ text (your time as a journalist really shines through on the electronic page), and a very interesting group in your “Wisdom” page (Thoreau, Mencken, Zappa and Twain? I’ll have to buy you a beer and cigar in St. Augustine one day – when the kiddies aren’t looking, of course – I think it would be a fun conversation).

A great site to visit; keep up the good work!
