Watch the Road, Not Your iPhone 01/18/2009
![]() I usually don't use this space to complain. But I'm fed up with seeing drivers swerve, unexpectedly slow down and otherwise drive erratically because – you guessed it – they're texting their friends or monitoring their BlackBerries or iPhones. This is ridiculous. On my 20-minute drive home from the office the other day, I saw not one, not two, but three motorists driving dangerously because they were distracted by their electronic gadgets. If someone crashes into my car because of the aforementioned actions, I will start punching. Seriously. So long as we're not gravely injured because of their stupidity. CommentsSat, 07 Feb 2009 09:08:59 I agree... I'm not a big complainer but I had to rant to a friend yesterday about said topic. However, on this occasion a cell phone was not to blame! Astonishing, I know. It's worse! The gentleman next to me in a black Honda Element with Coast Guard license plates was... was... (man! I get mad thinking about it!) he was reading the Metro Section of the local newspaper! That's right... he had it on his steering wheel and was reading away! All I can say is 2 things: John Sat, 07 Feb 2009 10:26:47 In California, it is not illegal to TALK on a cell phone. Sadly, I think it's still legal to text while driving. Sad....
